<para>&Linux; puhul hangitakse info failidest <filename class="devicefile">/proc/devices</filename> ja <filename class="devicefile">/proc/misc</filename>, mis on kättesaadavad ainult siis, kui pseudofailisüsteem <filename class="directory">/proc</filename> on kompileeritud kernelisse. Seadmed on rühmitatud gruppidesse (märgiseadmed, blokkseadmed, mitmesugust). Loendis on ära toodud seadme põhinumber ning tuvastav nimetus. </para>
